At large scale, wood decor shows properties not visible on a sample: the pattern direction continues from the front onto the side panel, the repeating texture sets the rhythm of the whole plane, and next to dark surfaces the pattern reads deeper and more contrasted.

The pattern has to be seen on a whole front

A small sample shows the colour, but not the scale of the grain or how the pattern carries from one surface to the next. On tall fronts and large surfaces a wood or stone pattern opens up fully: scale, direction and how the boards meet.
