About the material

Every billet has its own pattern and tone

Solid wood has no fixed grid of decors. We first determine the purpose of the piece, then choose the species, grade, lamella direction and available billet. Natural variation in colour, knots and pattern is part of the material and is agreed before manufacturing.

Wood species

From light, calm patterns to deep, warm tones

Below are visual guides. We confirm the exact species, grade, lamella format and billet before the quote.

Oak

A warm tone with a distinct natural pattern. The surface character depends on the grade and the chosen billet.

Ash

Light-coloured wood with long, expressive grain. It clearly shows the direction of the lamellas.

Walnut

A deeper brown tone with a contrasting pattern, for bold interior accents.

Birch

A light, visually calm surface with soft tonal transitions between the lamellas.

We treat the surface and the edge as a single decision

With solid wood, colour is not the only thing that matters. Lamella width, pattern direction, the character of the knots and the edge treatment all affect the look of the finished piece. We choose these parameters to match the countertop's dimensions and the kitchen's composition.

Solid wood can form the whole surface of an island or a separate bar area next to stone and ceramics. A pronounced edge helps emphasise the volume of the piece.

Open shelves and wall panels continue the wood pattern above the work surface. Pieces that keep their surface and natural edge visible look especially striking.

Standalone pieces

Tables and windowsills

Solid wood can be used to make a dining table top, a wide windowsill, a bench or an accent surface. We match the edge profile and tone to the other wood elements in the interior.

Finish

Colour and surface protection

The result depends not only on the wood species but also on the chosen coating: it changes the depth of tone, the sheen and the feel of the surface.

Oil

Emphasises the wood's natural texture and deepens its tone. The density of application affects the colour and level of sheen.

Stain

Changes the tone of the wood while keeping the pattern readable. The same stain gives a different tone on different species.

Lacquer

Creates a protective coating. Matt and semi-matt versions bring out the pattern differently and reflect light differently.
